AUSTRALIA | Footy fever is back and McDonald’s has kicked it off with Australia’s first ever AFL Happy Meal.

From Thursday, 27 February, fans of all ages can score their very own AFL Happy Meal, packed with exclusive AFL goodies. Each meal comes with awesome collectibles, including limited edition AFL bag clips, skills cards and stickers.

So, whether fans support the Brisbane Lions or Sydney Swans, barrack for Carlton, cheer on the Fremantle Dockers, or back Essendon or Geelong Cats, McDonald’s has it covered.

Amanda Nakad, Marketing Director of Menu and Brand for McDonald’s Australia, said the chain was there for every kick, mark and tackle,

“We hope to fuel the passion of footy fans across Australia - whether it's a pre-game bite or a post-game reward. Footy is more than just a game. It’s about mateship, family, and creating shared memories, and we want to make those moments even better,” said Nakad.

“It’s time to grab your teammates, show your team pride and join the footy fun, because AFL Happy Meal is here to serve up more joy than a last-minute goal. We all know the ultimate match-day ritual is Macca’s.”

Bec Haagsma, AFL Executive General Manager Customer and Commercial, said McDonald’s was a valued long-term partner of the AFL, and it was very excited to see the new AFL Happy Meal launch in an Australian first.

“The Macca’s Happy Meal has been a favourite for Aussie kids for as long as I can remember - when my five children were younger, discovering the Macca’s Happy Meal collectibles was always a great moment. Being able to pair this with footy colours was a no-brainer for the AFL and we are proud to see this come to life with Macca’s,” said Haagsma.

Brodie Grundy, Sydney Swans AFL player, said the Macca’s Happy Meal was going to help footy fans experience the excitement of the game beyond the field – right on time for the 2025 season kick-off.

“2025 will be an epic year of footy with registrations open now for community football at all levels, and Opening Round commencing in March in NSW and QLD. We can’t wait to experience another year of partnership with Macca’s,” said Grundy.

“Whether you’re watching from home or cheering from the sidelines, I’ve no doubt this AFL Happy Meal is going to help create unforgettable moments and memories for footy fans and families across Australia.”
