With bigger crowds and a thriving atmosphere, Bloody Mary's in Christchurch has seen the city come to life in recent months.
Rydges Latimer Christchurch General Manager Craig Wood said the city has been absolutely pumping with the newly opened stadium, and he welcomed the increased number of events that bring visitors into the city. Bloody Mary’s, the signature restaurant at Rydges Latimer Christchurch, celebrated the opening by installing Matchday HQ by Bloody Mary’s in its car park for the Super Round, which Wood said required a lot of planning to bring it to life, but seeing it come together was a proud moment for the team.
As part of Bloody Mary’s Decade of Decadence celebrations, Bloody Mary’s has hosted a series of immersive masterclasses and signature experiences to showcase its commitment to provenance, hero cuts, and exceptional whisky.
“It’s been a wonderful way to reconnect locals and visitors alike with what makes Bloody Mary’s a distinctive dining destination,” he said.
Wood said that Cantabrians have always been passionate about sport, and with the stadium hosting exciting events, game days bring an incredible energy to the city. In response to the influx of sports fans, Bloody Mary’s has introduced Dine. Dash. Cheer. to capture that atmosphere and give guests the chance to enjoy delicious food and drink before heading to a game. The menu has been designed for those who want a vibrant pre-match dining experience without missing a moment of the action.
“Christchurch has spent years rebuilding, but over the past few years our city has been flourishing, really coming into its own. There’s a buzz in the CBD, and more people are choosing to visit, stay, and call it home.”
Having gone without a major stadium for 15 years, Wood believed that the new stadium would improve business in the long-term and bring even further positivity to the city. He added that having something world-class with great accessibility to the CBD will attract more international events moving forward.
Wood said that Bloody Mary’s point of difference was delivering a dining experience that feels both elevated and approachable for every diner.
“We’re Christchurch’s premier steakhouse and whisky destination, and our focus is on exceptional produce, hero cuts, and provenance, from premium Greenstone Creek beef to beautifully marbled wagyu, paired with one of the city’s most impressive whisky collections.
