Award-winning Filipino Chef William Mordido, with his Buko pop-up restaurant, has designed an exquisite high tea menu tailored to foodie mum’s this Mother’s Day.
The Buko Mother’s Day High Tea hosted at Alberton House, Mt Albert will offer unique high tea treats with a modern take on the traditional selection of English sweet and savoury options. Buko’s will create a lavish array of whimsical delicacies with the menu and dining experience to be revealed on the day.
Creating a blend of Filipino flavours and combining this with an influence of classic New Zealand cuisine and the best British high tea tradition is a great way to celebrate Mother’s Day.
“With the Buko pop-up restaurant, we are proud to bring a unique culinary experience on Mother’s Day as people share their love and celebrate the special mums or any other caring person in their lives,” Mordido said. “By partnering with New Zealand’s favourite food brands, including Ōra King Salmon, Nature’s Fresh, Chelsea Sugar and Noble & Savage Tea Merchants, we are bringing an impressive three-stand of goodies drawing from the very best of the country’s produce.”
Ten percent of the profits generated through the event will be donated to the Women’s Refuge, in an effort to give back to the community and raise awareness on important issues.
