Global pizza chain Little Caesars is to trial a new plant-based sausage from the company behind the Impossible Burger.
The Impossible Supreme will be available at three test locations and features peppers, onion, mushroom, sausage, and cheese. Vegan customers can request the pizza be made without cheese.
Asked whether plant-based foods are a fad, David Scrivano, CEO of Little Caesars, said "I think it's here to stay. I'm really excited about it, I mean this pizza is a great product. It's for meat eaters, but it can also be for people who use a plant-based diet."
Little Caesars recently came under pressure to make vegan cheese available on their menu, after YouTuber Hannah Shaw started a petition which gained over 102,000 signatures.
The company joins Burger King in providing fast-food customers with a plant-based meat alternative.
