FHA-HoReCa TO RESUME IN 2022

Following close consultation with the industry, Informa Markets has announced that the 2020 edition of FHA-HoReCa, one of the world’s leading industry events serving the hotel, restaurant and café sectors, will be cancelled given the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic being felt throughout the global hospitality and tourism industries.

The event was due to take place in July 2020 at the Singapore EXPO & MAX Atria.

FHA-HoReCa is an expansion from one of Asia’s longest-running food and hospitality biennial trade events in the region, Food&HotelAsia (FHA). Where world’s leading hotels, restaurants and café suppliers gather, FHA-HoReCa brings the latest foodservice & hospitality equipment, products and services across five key profiles – Bakery, Pastry and Gelato; Foodservice and Hospitality Equipment; Hospitality Style; Hospitality Technology; and Speciality Coffee and Tea – serving discerning distributors, importers, manufacturers and retailers from Asia, all under one roof.

“It is heartening to see positive signs that recovery has started in some domestic markets, however it will be a while longer before a full rebound of the international hospitality and tourism sectors can materialise,” explained Mr Martyn Cox, Event Director, Hospitality, Food & Beverage - Singapore, Informa Markets.

“The decision to cancel was a tough one to make, but without suitable tenancy availability in the correct time period for the industry, this is very much the right decision for our customers.”

Informa Markets said it will take this extra time to develop the next edition of FHA-HoReCa into one that will more than make up for its absence this year. Also, during this period it is working closely with key partners to create alternative ways for the global community to still get together and connect, unlock business opportunities and gain access to content during this unprecedented time where live experiences seem unattainable.

“We would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding, and we look forward to catching up with everyone in-person at FHA-HoReCa 2022!” concluded Cox.

“Informa’s decision to cancel the 2020 edition of FHA-HoReCa and the return in 2022 will give the industry and its customers time to stabilise and reorganise post COVID-19. SAFEMS expects the 2022 edition to be better supported with participants and visitors, with time for the economy to recover,” said Ms Adeline Chow, Chairperson, Singapore Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers & Suppliers (SAFEMS).

The FHA team will contact all exhibitors, visitors and partners to discuss and plan for their future participation in FHA-HoReCa 2022. FHA-HoReCa’s sister show, FHA-Food & Beverage, will be held in March 2021 at the Singapore Expo as planned.
