E-BIKE DELIVERY

Domino’s U.S.A. has rolled out a streamlined delivery initiative that allows delivery drivers to ride e-bikes instead of using cars or regular bikes. Domino’s drivers working at the corporate-owned stores will be receiving these bikes later this year, with franchisees nationwide being provided with the option to buy them then as well.

The innovation is in partnership with Rad Power Bikes and has already been tested in Houston, Miami and New York. The bikes, which are capable of holding 12 large pizzas can travel at a top speed of around 30 kilometres an hour, for around 40 to 65 kilometres in total. Although the bikes are slower than traditional delivery cars, they are designed to cater to congested urban areas where driving is less common. The bikes also cater to hilly areas that may be hard for cyclists to work for long periods.
