Earlier this year, Carrols Restaurant Group Inc., already the most significant U.S. Burger King franchisee announced that they were looking to acquire 166 more Burger King units and 55 Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen. According to the company, the $USD 238 million merger with Cambridge Franchise Holdings LLC, has been completed as of Tuesday. Carrols now own 1065 franchised units, retaining its title of the largest franchisee of Restaurant Brands International Inc. In addition to the latest acquisitions, Carrols has made plans to develop and remodel numerous stores to modernise Burger King and Popeye’s image.
