The Restaurant Association is excited to announce the launch of its Women Mentoring Initiative, designed to empower and support women in the hospitality industry through facilitated connections. This initiative responds to the needs highlighted by members, who expressed a strong desire for a platform to support and be supported by fellow women in the field.
"By facilitating connections between women across various roles in the industry, we aim to create a vibrant support network. This network will pair experienced industry leaders with emerging female talent, fostering growth, inclusivity, and diversity within our industry," said Marisa Bidois, CEO of the Restaurant Association.
This initiative builds on the momentum of the NZ Women in Hospitality Network Facebook group, which serves as a dynamic hub for women across the industry to share their experiences and access inspiring content. The page aims to enhance the visibility of women’s contributions to hospitality and provides a space for empowerment and collaborative growth.
Participants can sign up through the Restaurant Association to become a mentor, a mentee, or both, depending on their professional development goals and personal aspirations.
“This initiative is not just about mentorship but also about building lasting relationships that contribute to a more inclusive and successful industry. The Restaurant Association is committed to recognising and uplifting the achievements of women through this initiative and eagerly anticipates the positive impact it will have on our community and industry at large,” concluded Bidois.
