The Wendy’s Co.’s virtual Wendyverse is expanding with a Frosty Village and addition of competitive activities to the Horizons World platform.
Based in Dublin, Ohio, the burger brand opened the virtual doors to the Wendyverse in April, which features a virtual restaurant located in a Wendy-branded virtual town square. The platform was expanded in June with the Sunrise City section.
The newest expansion opens a mountainside-themed section, Frosty Village, accessed through the Quest 2 virtual-reality headset. ‘Achievements’ are available so players can compete in activities throughout the Wendyverse and monitor their progress. The virtual offering comes with French fry skis, spoon ramps and snowboarding.
Alongside the introduction of Frosty Village comes a smartphone app offer of a free medium fries with the purchase of a Strawberry Frosty.
The Wendyverse is available to those 18 years and older, based in the United States, Canada or the United Kingdom.
