SUSTAINABLE AND ETHICAL IN ONE CUP

Coffee is a truly unique bean, universally coveted across cultures. It is a beverage that can break down many barriers, uniting people through their love of coffee. Detpak aims to harness this unique power to support social change through its new Coffee Origin Cup Gallery paper cups, now available in New Zealand.

Detpak’s vision for this compostable range of cups is to make a positive and sustainable impact in the lives of people in coffee-growing regions around the world. Five percent of sales from all cups in the Coffee Origins Cup Gallery is contributed to partner organisations.

The first charity is Guatemalan-based Pueblo a Pueblo, which is focused on sustainable programs to improve the lives of people in coffee-growing communities. One program undertaken by Pueblo a Pueblo is training families to keep bees for honey production, the aim being to lower the traditional reliance on coffee as their sole source of income.

“By purchasing the Detpak Coffee Origins Cup Gallery, you’re contributing to improving the health, education and food security of families in rural coffee growing communities around the world,” explained Detpak general manager Daniel Cross.

The range of compostable cups feature three designs, influenced by Ethiopia, Indonesia and Uganda, with imagery reflecting the countries’ rich history, design traditions, and cultures. Each carton contains a random mix of designs, with the designs being updated periodically.

The beautifully-designed cups are not only unique to drink from, but each tell a story and enable the customer to become closer to the origin of the coffee itself. Featuring a compostable lining, Coffee Origins™ offers a solution that is sustainable and ethical in one cup.

The Coffee Origins™ cups are the latest addition to Detpak’s I am eco range, that are all compostable, biodegradable or recyclable.
