Setting New Standards for the Out-of-Home Market

GERMANY | INTERNORGA in Hamburg set new standards and captivated the entire out-of-home market.

Under the theme ‘Where trends take off.’ it focused on the latest developments and provided a comprehensive market overview. The event showcased innovative concepts from newcomers and start-ups alongside pioneering contributions from international players.

With an impressive line-up of around 1,200 exhibitors, a mix of practical talks, informative congresses, exciting competitions, and extensive networking opportunities, the leading international trade fair created an inspiring and dynamic experience for its guests. Hamburg once again became the central meeting point where trends in the international food and hospitality industry were not only presented but actively shaped.

A pineapple on two legs against a peach-coloured background welcomed guests to INTERNORGA 2025, visually bringing to life the fair’s motto, ‘Where trends take off.’ "Our exhibitors took that as an invitation – there was an unprecedented variety of product premieres, innovations, and new products," said Matthias Balz, Director at INTERNORGA.

He added that this reflected the close partnership among all involved and underlined INTERNORGA’s high importance for the out-of-home market. A key part of this year’s event was the new trend sector, Future Food, where visionary companies demonstrated how plant-based products, alternative proteins, foodtech, and fermentation are redefining the future of out-of-home dining. This forward-looking sector for sustainable nutrition concepts complemented the popular Newcomers Area and, along with digital solutions showcased in the AI CENTER, reinforced the innovative spirit of the event.

A Trade Fair Full of Highlights and Sustainable Solutions

INTERNORGA not only featured extraordinary innovations from exhibitors but also delivered a diverse and engaging programme for the approximately 85,000 visitors. The International Foodservice Forum, the largest and most influential industry congress, took place the day before the fair, bringing the sector together. The event also included the unique afterwork lounge, OFF THE RECORD, which provided an informative and varied programme.

The excitement extended beyond the renowned awards, including the INTERNORGA Future Award, the NEXT CHEF AWARD, and the Deutscher Gastro-Gründerpreis, which celebrated its 10th anniversary. Three German coffee championships, organised by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), thrilled both the juries and the audience. Following its successful debut last year, freakstotable returned with around 40 manufacturers showcasing high-quality and sustainably produced food.

"This year, INTERNORGA has once again taken a real step forward – you could feel it in the positive atmosphere, despite the current challenges in the industry. I believe we can carry this momentum into the coming months and remain optimistic," said Christian Strootman, Chairman of the INTERNORGA Trade Fair Advisory Board and Managing Director at United Tables.

INTERNORGA and Hamburg: A Perfect Match

The theme ‘Where trends take off.’ not only suited INTERNORGA but also reflected its home city of Hamburg.

"A decisive success factor and a lasting top trend in the out-of-home market remains the authentic embodiment of the host role," said Heiko M. Stutzinger, CEO of Hamburg Messe und Congress.

"The feedback from INTERNORGA 2025 confirms that both we, as a leading industry event, and Hamburg—with its vibrant, urban flair and inviting, cosmopolitan atmosphere—fulfil this role perfectly."

According to initial results from an independent market research institute, INTERNORGA once again achieved top ratings, with high satisfaction, strong recommendations, and a clear intention among attendees to return in 2026, reinforcing its status as a flagship event for hotels, gastronomy, bakeries, and confectioneries, as well as a key meeting place for decision-makers.

Save the date - The next INTERNORGA will take place from 13 to 17 March 2026.
