Industry expert Richard Hinson has been named the next CEO of The Coffee Club,  announced by Minor DKL Food Group.

Minor DKL Food Group, the parent company of The Coffee Club, has appointed Richard Hinson as the new CEO of the cafe chain, a move it outlined would signal a new era for the company and would focus on customer service for The Coffee Club brand.

Following his varied experience across the food, retail, and franchising sectors in Australia, Hinson hoped that his leadership would allow the brand to strengthen its partnerships across The Coffee Club network, raise its service standards, and drive a customer experience-first culture.

“I’m thrilled to join Minor DKL at such an exciting time for The Coffee Club, a moment of renewal for Australia’s most iconic coffee brand,” said Hinson.

“At the heart of every great café is the people, our Franchise Partners, their teams, and the customers who make The Coffee Club part of their daily ritual. I’m committed to strengthening those partnerships, building a culture centred on collaboration and innovation, where Franchise Partners thrive and every customer experience is personalised and memorable. This is how we will continue to build a café network that Australians love and trust for generations to come.”

In addition to leveraging his experience at Retail Food Group to strengthen and deepen franchise relationships at The Coffee Club, as the new CEO, Hinson will also focus on launching the Three Stories Cafe brand and rolling out new stores.

At Retail Food Group, Hinson led a strategic turnaround focused on revitalising franchise relationships and boosting profitability across more than 1,000 outlets nationwide. At Countrywide, he was instrumental in elevating the company’s standing as one of Australia’s leading foodservice distributors.

The grab-and-go concept recently opened its first venue in South Brisbane, offering coffee, quick lunches, and treats.

Minor DKL is one of Australia’s largest retail food franchisors and the parent company of other brands such as Veneziano Coffee Roasters and Coffee Hit. It currently operates more than 350 cafés and restaurants across 13 countries.
