Restaurant Association Launch Online Webinar Series

The Restaurant Association has responded to the many restaurants that are doing it tough by launching professional development and training programs.

Future-proofing hospitality businesses from future adverse effects is crucial to ensure their survival in the face of unexpected situations. By having a strong business structure and robust systems in place, hospitality businesses can weather adverse events and bounce back.

The Restaurant Association has designed two workshops to assist businesses in becoming more resilient, delivered with the support of Active Community, and are free to attend.

The Effective Crisis Communication webinar, held on Monday, the 18th of September, will focus on reputation management and communication. It will equip businesses with the necessary skills to manage their reputation effectively, foster trust with stakeholders, and navigate communication challenges in times of adversity.

The Improved Cybersecurity and Data Protection webinar will promote increased awareness surrounding cybersecurity resilience and technology. The webinar aims to prevent potential cyberattacks and data breaches, protect sensitive information, and maintain the trust of customers and stakeholders. The webinar will be held on Monday, the 26th of September.

In-person training courses are also set for nationwide to benefit restaurant owners further.

In Auckland, alcohol awareness and host responsibility will provide essential knowledge and skills to hone in on standards when serving alcohol. The Host Responsibility and Alcohol Awareness training will be held on the 25th of September.

Crisis management and conflict de-escalation will cover the basics of getting through an emergency while keeping staff and customers safe. The class is scheduled for the 17th of October.

In Christchurch, Sirpa Gunn will present the Ultimate Menu Profitability Workshop, offering invaluable insight and practical techniques that have been fine-tuned through years of hospitality consulting.

Krishna Botica will lead two interactive workshops surrounding new and emerging hospitality managers and supervisors on developing and fine-tuning leadership skills. The second workshop has been specifically designed for kitchen and restaurant managers, preparing them with essential tools and strategies to become exceptional leaders.

A selection of online workshops to better equip restaurant staff with operational duties have been scheduled throughout September and October.
