RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION LATEST – 14 APRIL

The Restaurant Association of New Zealand has been working hard to support its members and the industry through the Covid-19 pandemic. Here is the association's latest resources and advice.

Many association members have asked for advice on lease documents that are using the Auckland District Law Society (ADLS) Lease Agreement after 2012, and include clause 27.5: “No Access in an Emergency”.  The Restaurant Association has put together an advisory for members on this. The association has created an epic line up of online training and webinars with some amazing restaurateurs from around the world, including Will Guidara, co-owner of the hospitality group Make It Nice, which owns and operates Eleven Madison Park, NoMad New York, NoMad Los Angeles, NoMad Las Vegas, NoMad Bar and Made Nice. Check out all the upcoming webinars here.

It has also taken its regional meet ups virtual, join association members for your local MeetMe. Available for everyone, come hang out with your local hospo peers where you can chew the fat and have your burning questions answered. Find your regional MeetMe here.

Further details on what life will look like at Alert Level 3 will be provided this week. The Restaurant Association is meeting with Government to get clarity around the different levels. The Government have also confirmed that they will make a decision on the 20th of April, as to whether the lockdown will be lifted on the 22nd of April.

The Wellington City Council listened to ideas provided by the region's hospitality, tourism and retail industries and after last Thursday’s City Council meeting approved a wide range of measures to help businesses as part of a pandemic response and recovery plan which included assistance specifically for the city’s hugely important hospitality industry.

A number of other regional councils are in initial stages of putting together their own economic recovery programmes. The Restaurant Association will be sharing further details as they come through.
