The Newmarket Business Awards are back for 2024, dedicated to the local businesses that have contributed to the area's success over the past 12 months.
Newmarket has geared up to celebrate the best from across the area - with international retailers, bars, cafes, lawyers, fashion designers, beauticians, fitness centres and more among the finalists announced for the 2024 Newmarket Business Awards.
The rigorous judging process whittled down entries to an elite group of finalists across 14 categories. The 2024 awards look to be the most competitive in the awards history.
The independent judging panel, includes some of New Zealand’s most prominent business leaders and influencers. Among the line-up is Michael Barnett (former Chief Executive of the Auckland Business Chamber), Anthony Hoy Fong (Celebrity Chef), Kelly Bennett (One Plus One), Sue O’Connor (The Just Group), Koro Dickinson (Poutama Trust), Elena Kim (PWC), Wynnis Armour (Armour Consulting), and four expert mystery shopper judges.
Sponsor judges include Katia Addison (Head of Commercial, Agri and Business for the Bank of New Zealand) as well as a panel from Rotary Newmarket for Young Business Person of the Year.
“It’s been another tough year, but once again a superb selection of our businesses from across the precinct have knocked it out of the park,” said Newmarket Business Association’s CEO, Mark Knoff-Thomas.
“Newmarket is home to the best of the best - locally, nationally and internationally. We look forward to celebrating with all the finalists and winners on Friday 15th November - a night for us all to celebrate and be proud of what has been achieved.”
Arte Della Pasta, Katsu Katsu, Khao San Eatery, New York Grill, and White & Wongs have been nominated for Restaurant of the Year, while Atelier Shu, Blackdrop Eatery, Gilli Cafe, L'Atelier du Fromage, and Movenpick Newmarket were nominated for Cafe of the Year.
The category winners, as well as the People’s Choice, Newmarket Legend Award, and the Supreme Winner, will be announced at the awards evening to be held at Cordis on Friday 15th November 2024.
