Starbucks has announced the new Apple Crisp Macchiato will be joining the iconic Pumpkin Spice Latte in the autumn drinks line-up.
The Apple Crisp Macchiato is made with an apple and brown sugar syrup mixed with espresso, steamed milk, and drizzled with caramelised apple spice syrup made from apple juice, apple puree, cinnamon and nutmeg.
For many, the day Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Latte becomes available is the day Autumn starts. Raegan Powell, senior manager of the Starbucks research and development team, said the beverages bring back the nostalgic flavour of the season. The team created this new flavour to celebrate comfort and familiarity.
The new drink was created after the Starbucks team sampled all forms of apple flavour possibilities, from apple maple syrup and apple cider doughnuts to apple pies, cakes and crisps.
