Nestlé Golden Chef’s Hat Competition Kicks off with South Island Heat

Talented young chefs from the South Island are competing today in the 2021 Nestlé Golden Chef’s Hat Award for the chance to ignite their culinary careers.

Thirteen chefs from around the South Island will each create a two-course menu, (main and dessert dishes) in the live kitchen cook-off.

The winner of the South Island Regional cook-off is destined for the grand finals to do kitchen battle in the public arena at Fine Food Australia in Sydney this September where one winner will take out Golden Chef of the Year and a $10,000 cash prize.

“We’re excited to be back to live chef-to-chef cook-offs for 2021, giving young chefs the opportunity to showcase their cooking skills and be rated against their peers,” expressed Mark Clayton, Executive Chef, Nestlé Professional.
