"First of all, I love coffee, and I get pleasure from making a good coffee and the enjoyment it brings to people."
Hannah Everett, the dedicated barista at Six Ounces, was drawn to the dynamic and ever-evolving hospitality industry from a young age.
Her unwavering passion for the culinary arts and the world of coffee propelled her to learn the intricacies of a cafe, ultimately leading her to the vibrant Christchurch cafe Six Ounces.
Everett highlighted customer interactions as one of the most attractive features of the industry.
"I love people too, and the interactions I have as a barista makes my day!"
The defining features of a coffee can be complex to balance, but for Everett, it comes as second nature. Extracting a sultry crema for an espresso is an art she had to master, along with ensuring the milk is always silky.
At Six Ounces, Everett feels inspired by the delicious menu that is vegan-friendly.
"Our chef is vegan himself, and so he has dedicated a lot of time to perfecting his recipes and the results are really super," said Everett.
Not only does she love the menu and the cafe's values, but Everett has found a community within Six Ounces with fellow staff and customers.
In her spare time, Everett relaxes by visiting local markets and spending time with family and friends. However, if she is looking for an adrenaline rush, she opts for car racing.
To prepare herself for whatever the day holds, Everetts recommends ordering a six-ounce mocha served piping hot.
