The Restaurant Association has announced the final two speakers for Ignite Hospo 2024. These outstanding individuals will round out the event’s dynamic lineup, bringing unparalleled insights and experiences to our attendees.
Judith Tabron, a trailblazing restaurateur whose renowned eatery Soul was bought out at the peak of its success, will share her journey of rediscovery and resilience. After stepping away from the culinary world, she has made a triumphant return with her new venture, 'First Mates, Last Laugh.' Tabron's story is one of passion, perseverance, and the undying pursuit of unfinished business, offering inspiration to anyone looking to reignite their dreams and redefine success.
The lineup will also include Daniel Chin from the Raising the Bar Foundation, who will unveil his groundbreaking initiative to transform mental health perceptions within the hospitality industry. Through the inspiring story of The Barstool Brothers, a men's mental health support group in Wollongong, Chin will explain how he expanded his reach to provide vital mental health training for hospitality workers.
This innovative course equips staff with the tools to manage their own mental health and teaches them to recognise warning signs in their customers. Starting with 300 participants in Wollongong, the programme is now being rolled out statewide and eventually nationwide. Addressing the unique challenges posed by the intrinsic link between alcohol and mental health, this initiative fills a crucial gap in the market, empowering hospitality workers, and paving the way for a more supportive industry.
Ignite Hospo 2024 has promised to be an immersive and engaging experience designed to provide practical insights and foster meaningful connections. The event will feature a blend of keynote presentations, interactive workshops, and intimate campfire-style sessions. Each session is tailored to address the unique challenges and opportunities within the hospitality industry, offering attendees the chance to learn from industry leaders and peers alike.
The lineup of keynote presentations will set the tone for the day, delivering powerful messages and inspiring stories that resonate with all attendees. The workshops will delve into specific topics, providing hands-on learning opportunities and actionable strategies that can be implemented immediately. The campfire-style sessions are designed for smaller, more intimate group discussions, allowing for deeper engagement and personalised feedback.
Throughout the day, there will be ample opportunities for networking, with designated breaks, meals, and a grazing platter reception to facilitate connections among attendees. This format ensures a balanced mix of structured learning and informal interactions, creating an environment conducive to both professional growth and community building.
