Khao Soi has announced a takeover of SO/ Auckland's corner cafe, marking the launch of its first outlet in Auckland city.
SO/ Auckland’s corner coffee shop, Javalab Café, is getting a new look for winter.
The famed Wellingtonian, Northern Thai restaurant, Khao Soi, is popping up at Javalab from 25 June to 09 July 2026. From 11:30 am to 2pm on weekdays, until sold out, their fragrant fare will be available for both dine-in and take-away.
Khao Soi will present a curated menu of their classic savoury dishes, alongside quirky drinks during this pop-up.
Their iconic namesake hero dish, Khao Soi Bowls, will be available in two forms:
- Khao Soi Curry Noodle Soup, NZD 25, Coconut curry noodle soup topped with crispy egg noodles, fresh condiments and your choice of protein
- Stir-Fry Khao Soi Noodles, NZD 25, Pan-tossed egg noodles in a rich, spiced sauce with crispy egg noodles, fresh condiments and your choice of protein
Guests will have their choice of crispy chicken, gravy beef or tofu as proteins. Gluten-free and Vegan soup bases are also available on request.
A selection of signature, bold drinks will be available for NZD 12 each.
These include Khao Soi’s Signature Thai Tea, Makrut Lime & Lemongrass Lime Soda (only available via Javalab x Khao Soi), and Thai Lime Tonic (only available via Javalab x Khao Soi).
Better yet, the pop-up is offering a lunch special: customers’ choice of a Khao Soi Bowl and any drink for NZD 32. Available for walk-ins only, limited quantities of Khao Soi’s bowls and drinks will be available each day. This pop-up marks Khao Soi’s first foray into the centre of Auckland City, having recently expanded to Remuera. Guests have been encouraged to follow the fragrant scent, look for the Khao Soi window stickers, and be led to their brand new lunch ritual for a few weeks this winter.
