KFC of the Future

KFC has unveiled the first of its ‘restaurant of the future’ designs, with the reopening of the South Penrith location in Sydney.

The new design encompasses a sustainability theme, which has a focus on delivering customers a convenient, state-of-the-art restaurant experience. The restaurant has an immersive tunnel at the entrance of the drive-through, with iconic scenes of KFC’s history, including its founder, Colonel Sanders. Three self-service kiosks within the restaurant also will also be on hand to assist customers with ordering.

The restaurant chain has partnered with sustainability company, saveBOARD, which turns recyclables into affordable, high-performance building materials.

Every saveBOARD sold turns approximately 25 kilograms of waste into something practical.

The South Penrith store first opened in 1987, and underwent a major remodel in late 2022.
