As part of the day, we are also running an end-of-play auction at the 19th hole, in which many brand owners have kindly donated products to help us raise money for the charity Kiwi Can and to establish the inaugural Peter Mitchell Scholarship. The scholarship is for rising stars in the industry to further their knowledge of the industry.
Peter Mitchell was a dedicated supporter of the grocery industry and a passionate golfer who sadly passed away last year. He was the proud owner of Review Publishing, the publisher of SupermarketNews and during his lifetime, he was the recipient of numerous accolades and awards, including the FGC Lifetime Achievement Award (twice). Peter was committed to supporting and mentoring individuals who were starting out in the industry, and this scholarship is a fitting way to continue his legacy.
It promises to be a fun day of golf with an awesome end-of-play auction and some fantastic prizes. Even if you are not a golfer, but would like to catch up with industry colleagues old and new, we invite you to join us at the 19th, just need to register for catering purposes (no charge to attend).
