HOSPITALITY’S TRIED AND TRUE SHINE THOUGH

The votes are in! The Hawke’s Bay hospitality industry has selected the best performers in the hospitality business, with top honours going to repeat winners from previous years. Consistency is a key part of hospitality excellence and several winners from this year have proven they have a consistently good formula.

In its tenth year running, the Hawke’s Bay Hospitality Awards encourages business owners and employees to recognise their peers as a salute to hospitality excellence, whether they poured pints or flat whites.

New this year, Hawkes Bay Today introduces the People’s Choice award, a peer to peer merit
that offers the public an opportunity to vote for and recognise their favourite establishment.

The awards are proudly presented by the Restaurant Association of New Zealand, a not-for-profit organisation owned by members and dedicated to helping business owners succeed. The Restaurant Association is the bridge between good food and good business, and hosts multiple awards nationwide to honour talented and entrepreneurial people working within the hospitality industry.

Restaurant Association chief executive Marisa Bidois acknowledges “with so many talented operators and dedicated hospitality professionals in the region, each category was keenly contested, and we congratulate all the winners on a job well done.”

Ms Bidois said “Under the stewardship of the Restaurant Association and with the valued support of industry partners, the awards are an important platform to highlight the region’s successes and to acknowledge the industry’s achievements”.

The Hawkes Bay Branch of the Restaurant Association is extremely proud of all the restaurants, cafes, bars, and wineries that make up our unique and vibrant industry. President Sean Burns said “the winners reflect the dynamic and diverse businesses that the Hawke’s Bay community has to choose from, and the awards are a very important event for our local industry. All the hospitality owners and staff would like to thank the sponsors that support our efforts and helped make these awards such a fantastic celebration.’’
