HELPING THOSE IN NEED

A Nando’s branch in Scotland has announced that it will open on Christmas Day to feed and shelter the homeless. At Glasgow’s Waterloo Street branch, staff have posted signs in the restaurant encouraging customers to donate useful items such as a blanket, a pair of gloves or a jacket so that they can pass it on to the homeless.

On the store’s Facebook page, they wrote about their intentions. “We are planning on opening on Christmas Day to feed some of Glasgow’s many homeless. We’d love to be able to give them some gifts to help them keep warm and clean, and we need your help. We have placed a bin by our entrance and would love if you could help us fill it with hats, gloves, blankets, toiletries, etc. We will be arranging invites with local charities who help the homeless so if anyone can assist us further with this that would be fantastic.”

The store has already received overwhelming support, many people offering their time as well as gifts.

It is unclear as to whether or not other chains or venues will follow suit.
