Auckland ice cream maker, Giapo, has partnered with the Park Hyatt Auckland to launch its second official location.
After 16 years of only being able to get their favourite ice cream at a single location, Aucklanders are in for a treat. This summer Giapo will be entering into a collaboration with Park Hyatt Auckland’s cafe - The Pantry, where customers will be able to get scoops of five of their favourite flavours right in the heart of Wynyard Quarter.
“We are so excited” said Giapo Grazioli, owner of Giapo.
“Annarosa and I love the Park Hyatt Auckland and all their food offerings, so we were delighted when they asked us to collaborate with them at their beautiful hotel.”
The couple started their operation in a small space on Queen Street in 2008 but moved to Gore Street in 2017, where they now serve their wild creations (ice cream- but not as you know it - donuts, cookies and weird and wonderful changing dessert innovations). They also hold tasting experiences for delighted customers and groups in their upstairs space. The brand shot to further fame in 2023 when they opened a joint venture with international music superstar Cher, in LA after she fell in love with their gelato on a trip to New Zealand.
Park Hyatt Auckland’s vibrant culinary spaces are purposefully designed to offer hotel guests and customers a place to socialise, dine and unwind, on the waterfront and Giapo x The Pantry Ice Cream Hut will further elevate this already popular food and beverage experience.
“Giapo’s passion for creating exceptional ice cream aligns perfectly with our commitment to providing authentic and genuine hospitality,” said Brett Sweetman from Park Hyatt Auckland.
“It’s been a challenging year for Wynyard Quarter, especially with the closure of the bridge so this collaboration is our way of contributing to the revitalisation of the area and generating foot traffic as the bridge reopens in mid-December.”
