Queenstown-based Amisfield, a renowned Central Otago wine producer and restaurant, has been recognised at the prestigious 2024 Best Chef Awards, winning the ‘Best Chef Dining Experience’ award and the prestigious 'Three Knives’ award for Executive Head Chef Vaughan Mabee—both recognised as top accolades in the world of gastronomy.
Established by the Darby family in 1988, Amisfield has showcased the best expression of the food and land New Zealand has to offer, and has honoured its acclaimed wine by pairing it with one of the best dining experiences in the world - which has resulted in making it one of the world’s premier culinary destinations.
Originally hailing from Northland, Executive Head Chef Vaughan Mabee has been with Amisfield for almost a decade, where his skills and innovative-focused vision have played a significant role in maintaining a tradition of excellence.

“At Amisfield, we aim to create an unforgettable dining experience that celebrates the incredible flavours of Central Otago, bringing the unique tastes of New Zealand to life,” said Mabee.
He added that his work at Amisfield had been supported by a rich sense of teamwork and dedication to the culinary arts, which has helped paint a narrative of what Central Otago cuisine is.
