Fox Island Wines Release Artist Series

Great things happen when people come together for good. The Artist Series release from Foxes Island Wines is years of expertise, commitment, and passion, rolled into one; championing excellence, sustainability, and community. A natural extension of the Foxes Island portfolio, wine and art are deeply sensory, and evoke universal emotions that positively connect us as human beings. Founders John Belsham and Kelly Brown chose the work ‘Sunbird Karaoke by Kirsty Black’ for the first release.

“Having worked with Kirsty previously, it was a pleasure to collaborate with her again on the Artist Series. Each label highlights a section of the artwork and was chosen for its aesthetic beauty, soft lines, layers of texture and rich colour palette; descriptors that also reflect the wines; whilst the Sunbird itself symbolises the spirit of unity, freedom, happiness and fortune,” said Brown.

The collaboration with Milford Foundation, further underscores the Series ethos. 20 percent of the wine sale proceeds will be donated to the Milford Foundation to help communities rebuild from the devastating effects of the 2023 floods and Cyclone Gabrielle in New Zealand.

Chair of the Milford Foundation, Sarah Norrie said that the organisation is very honoured and privileged to partner with Foxes Island Wines in its endeavour to identify the right projects that will provide the most benefit.

“Working alongside like-minded companies such as Foxes  Island who understand the huge benefit that philanthropy can make, when New Zealanders come together for a collective cause, is magnificent. It is our hope that all those that enjoy quality wine, will savour each sip of the gift that the purchase of the Artist Series will make,” said Norrie.

The official Artist Series release is on Monday, 8th May 2023, in coordination with the Milford Foundation, the Burgers, Beers and Brilliant Sports People event will be held at Eden Park, for 650 people. Tickets are on sale now.

A live auction will be held on the night, and via GalaBid for those not in attendance. Amongst many items, the auction will feature six bottles each of the Artist Series wines along with the original artwork, Sunbird Karaoke, valued at $2,100.
