U.S.A. | Foley Family Wines adds High Ground Vodka to Growing Line of Spirits.
Foley Family Wines, a family-owned wine and spirits company based in Sonoma County, has announced the addition of High Ground Vodka to its growing line of spirits. High Ground Vodka is a 100 percent estate rye, small-production, hyperlocal vodka crafted by Master Distiller Joseph O’Sullivan.
“Vodka remains the largest spirit category, and High Ground is the perfect entry into this segment,” said Shawn Schiffer, Foley Family Wines President.
“Similar to what we’ve seen in whiskey, gin, and tequila, vodka is primed for premiumization. As a small batch, estate vodka, High Ground is the perfect addition to FFW as we expand and diversify our global spirits collection."
O’Sullivan and his team at Foley Family Wines Minden Mill Distilling in Minden, NV manage the process of crafting High Ground Vodka from growing the rye grains, to distillation and bottling at Minden Mill.
“High Ground is made locally from estate rye in the high desert of Minden and pure water from Sierra Nevada snowmelt,” O’Sullivan said.
“Small batch distillation allows us to have more control over the process, so we can create a truly unique quality vodka that is smooth with a hint of spice, perfect sipped neat or in cocktails.”
Vodka is the largest category by nine litre volume. High Ground’s price segment, USD 22 to USD 30 has driven growth as the second fastest growing segment at plus six percent and the second largest contributor to revenue growth among unflavored vodka.
