FAMILY OWNED WINERY WINS BIG

The Royal Easter Wine Show has been running for an astounding 67 years, making it New Zealand’s oldest wine competition and ensuring it has developed a solid reputation as being a leading New Zealand wine show.

Saint Clair Family Estate has celebrated a major win at the Royal Easter Wine Show 2020. The Saint Clair Pioneer Block 20 Cash Block Sauvignon Blanc 2019 was awarded the Guala Closures Award for the Champion Sauvignon Blanc.

The trophy was announced at a prestigious wine dinner held in Auckland celebrating the excellence achieved by New Zealand wines.

Two of the winery’s Sauvignons won gold medals, a 2018 Chardonnay also won a gold medal.

“The Saint Clair team have an absolute focus on quality across all facets of the business. The quality fruit from the vineyard is an essential part of the process and we are seeing the result of this through the consistent achievements in wine awards all over the world,” commented Neal Ibbotson, Managing Director. “This would not be possible without the dedicated team approach along with open-minded viticulture and a team of highly skilled personnel,” he added.

The family-owned Marlborough winery is incredibly proud of the commitment and dedicated efforts of the entire Saint Clair team. The team are excited to be welcoming the harvest of 2020 with the first fruit already off the vine.

With Marlborough’s typical high sunshine hours throughout the growing season, it is expected that the 2020 vintage wines will continue to be of the highest standard Saint Clair is renowned for.
