El Matador has risen from its ashes to reopen its doors after being devastated by fire.
In November, the Wellington restaurant was ravaged when sparks were sucked into the extractor fan above the stove, igniting a blaze.
The damage to the restaurant was extensive, and El Matador’s owner, Mike Marsland, said that the repairs should’ve have taken months. However, thanks to the connections that Marsland has in the construction industry, local builders have worked tirelessly to get the restaurant back up and running.
El Matador is now the proud owner of a new kitchen and is welcoming guests back in.
