DELIVERY DOWN UNDER

DoorDash is expanding into Australia. With an internationally recognised food and beverage team, DoorDash is hoping to capitalise on Australia’s 7.1 million people-strong delivery market.

For the first 30 days of its inception, DoorDash is offering free delivery on orders over $10, as well as a ’30 or $30 promotion’, guaranteeing delivery within 30 minutes. “We dove deep into the Australian market and quickly realised two things; restaurants want more from their delivery partners, and not all Melburnians have access to the selection they should expect,” said Thomas Stephens, DoorDash general manager, Australia.

DoorDash’s expansion comes amidst global reassessment of what delivery companies are entitled to, and where the power should lie in the restaurant-delivery company relationship.
