After being disgusted at other customers' disregard for level 2 guidelines, a customer walked out of a Christchurch cafe.
Law professor Annick Masselot said more than 50 people were inside Bakermans, a family-owned cafe and bakery in Fendalton, Christchurch, when she visited, and most were not following the rules.
Masselot said she saw dozens of people not social distancing and ordering at the counter without a mask.
Lots of older people were mingling and mixing tables, like a rave for over 70s, Masselot said.
She hoped there were no hidden cases of Covid-19 in the South Island because what she saw today would have Jacinda Ardern weeping.
