Auckland Food Industry stalwart Debbie Bryant (nee Coates) passed away on the 17th of October 2023 at the age of 58 after a short battle with the neurological disease CJD.
Bryant was owner of Auckland's Crystal Bay Foods supplying the Auckland Hospitality trade since 2006. Bryant had a passion and a determination for servicing the industry developed over a 30-year tenure in the industry. Her career started in the late 80’s with Goodman Fielder owned Service Foods, acquired by the Crean Family in the early 90’s (later Bidvest).
Bryant went on to later form Crystal Bay Foods with then business partner Lachie Revell in 2009. Revell (previously Oceanic Foods) died in 2009.
Bryant will be dearly missed and leaves a legacy and a business to be proud of. Renee (Bryant’s daughter) and Operations Manager Jesse Cortland have taken charge of the business committing to continue the legacy that Bryant leaves. The Auckland Hospitality scene has lost an extremely passionate and dedicated character.
Debbie was laid to rest on 25th October at All Saints Chapel, Purewa Cemetery.
