AUSTRALIA | Karen Doyle, President of the Australia Culinary Federation has applauded the work of many chefs and industry leaders.

Spring is shaping up to be a vibrant season for the Australian Culinary Federation - from truffle discovery weekends and masterclasses to state-led networking events.

All eyes are now on Fine Food Australia, taking place in Sydney from 8–12 September. Once again the ACF Culinary Challenge will take pride of place on the show floor, bringing together emerging talent, industry professionals and a packed schedule of competitions.

This year’s lineup includes the ACF National Apprentice Competition, Most Outstanding Chef, Team Challenges and the final of the Nestlé Golden Chefs Hat Award. Alongside the competition arena, the Demonstration Kitchen will be front and centre. Drop by to experience firsthand the creativity, innovation and energy that define the culinary community in Australia. It’s a place to immerse yourself, pick up new ideas and connect with the chefs shaping what’s next in Australian food.

It’s been a big year for chefs and foodservice venues alike. Industry job vacancies remain high, tracking around 80 per cent above pre-2020 levels according to the ABS. But it’s not just about the numbers. Now is the time to come together, reconnect with peers and make space for the next generation. Mentorship, inclusion and education are front and centre in everything we do.

The Federation continues to support growth at every level through competitions, scholarships, international exchanges and local events that bring chefs together in meaningful ways.” We’re proud of what’s been achieved so far this year and even more excited for what’s ahead,” said Karen Doyle, President of the Australian Culinary Federation.

“We’re especially proud of the work happening in our ACF Young Chefs Program supported by Nestlé Professional, which is helping to build confidence, capability and a strong sense of community among the next generation of chefs.”
