COVID-19 Spurs Suspension of Iconic Slogan

For the first time in 64 years, KFC is hitting pause on one of fast food's most popular slogans. The restaurant has announced it will suspend the use of ‘It's Finger Lickin' Good’ in its advertising.

With the unprecedented global pandemic upending businesses and lives around the globe the fried chicken chain said that the slogan no longer felt right.

"We find ourselves in a unique situation - having an iconic slogan that doesn't quite fit in the current environment," said Catherine Tan-Gillespie, global chief marketing officer at KFC, in a statement.

"While we are pausing the use of It's Finger Lickin' Good, rest assured the food craved by so many people around the world isn't changing one bit.”

KFC said the slogan will not go away forever. The chain said they will bring it back when the time is right.
