Countrywide Distributors announces closure

After 25 years of trading, Countrywide Distributors (NZ) Ltd. will close up shop at the end of March.

The company was established to provide the personalised service and local knowledge of regional operators alongside the systems and purchasing power of a larger company.

Countrywide CEO Dennis Cox thanked members and customers for their support in the past and wished them the best for the future.

“On a personal note, I have valued my association with you and in particular the strong friendships I have made,” he said.

Cox said that the change was largely brought about by Service Foods Ltd. “embarking on a strategy of acquiring majority of members in the Association.”

All charge throughs by members will be honoured until the 31st March 2019 and paid according to Countrywide Distribution’s normal trading terms. All guarantees and current arrangements will cease after this date. The office will continue to operate until all liabilities and arrangements are settled. Remaining members will continue to operate, and arrangements need to be made to open direct accounts by April 1st 2019.
