Conscious Eatery in Seattle, USA, is leading consumption trends in the right direction. Opening three years ago, the restaurant gives a meal away for every meal purchased—either directly to the homeless, or to its non-profit partners. So far, Conscious Eatery has donated over 30,000 meals.

The restaurant offers its customers the chance to ‘make it a meal’. This essentially means extra food, and charge on the customer’s bill, but it also means that they are providing a meal for someone in need. Customers know that although they are adding a little to their purchase, they are supporting an honourable cause.

The owners of Conscious Eatery, Cierra Laub and Chaz Rowlan hope to be able to open more locations across the West Coast.
