The Coffee Club, Australia, has taken part in the 2023 CafeSmart Initiative to fight homelessness, and has committed to donating $1 for every takeaway coffee sold on the 4th of August to StreetSmart Australia. This non-profit organisation grants to grassroots community groups with the aim of tackling the ongoing homelessness situation in Australia.
During its tenure, CaféSmart and Streetsmart have raised over $2 million through participating cafes. The 2023 event will run from the 1st until the 7th of August, with the Coffee Club joining the cause for the second year. The Coffee Club was the first national café chain to support the effort.
Recently, officials from The Coffee Club Australia toured the premises of 3rd Space, a Brisbane-based organisation that benefitted from CafeSmart’s contribution in 2022. 3rd Space offers support to those on the brink of homelessness, as well as supporting various initiatives to assist skill-building, quality of life and more.
National Partnerships Marketing Manager, Jessica Crokidas, said that The Coffee Club was proud to rejoin the cause again in 2023.
“Our continued partnership with StreetSmart on this initiative is something our communities can truly reap the benefits from across the country,” said Crokidas
In 2022, The Coffee Club raised over AU$ 18,000 for the charity.
