Currently in its fourth year, the Café of the Year Awards have recently announced the 78 finalists for 2016.
One winner is selected in each of the four categories, Best Metro/CBD, Best Suburban, Best Rural and Classic Kiwi, from which the supreme winner of NZ Café of the Year for 2016 is chosen. The People’s Choice winner is determined through public vote. This year more than 700 cafes entered the awards.
Finalists include La Fourchette (St Heliers, Auckland), Abracadabra Café and Bar (Rotorua), Central Deli (Mt Maunganui), Element (Whanganui), Benedicts Café (Lower Hutt, Wellington), and Café Kudos (Middleton, Christchurch).
