CAFÉ EXCITED TO HOST ROYALS

Maranui Café, in Wellington's Lyall Bay, will soon play host to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as the royals tour New Zealand.

"We're an iconic cafe, we've been there for a long time, and well-known in Wellington and around New Zealand,” said owner Katie Richardson. “It's got a very New Zealand feel, so I think that's why they've chosen us."

At the café, Harry and Meghan will meet with young New Zealanders who work in mental health projects. Richardson said that they had been visited by scouts earlier in the year. The announcement of the venue had boosted businesses and customers are being forced to wait up to half an hour for a table.

"We've had lots of celebrities including prime ministers and movie stars. It's got great food, great location, you can't really beat it I don't think," Richardson said. "We're going to close the cafe for a few hours while they're here, so they get the special treatment."

Prince Harry and Meghan will be in New Zealand from October 28 to 31.
