Businesses Prepare as Alert Level Shift Looms

Businesses south of Auckland are gearing up to partially open to the public once again tomorrow. From 11.59pm tonight, most of New Zealand will shift from Alert Level 4 to Alert Level 3. Northland remains in Level 4 until Thursday and Auckland will remain at the strictest Alert Level for at least another two weeks.

Takeaways and barista-made coffees are the key things Kiwis have been holding out for that will become available when the clock strikes midnight.

Restaurant and cafés appear to be planning staggered openings through Wednesday, McDonald’s restaurants, for example, will not be opening as soon as the alert level shifts at midnight, but throughout the day and a restricted menu will be in place initially.

Uber Eats has confirmed that it will be ready to go for contactless deliveries.
