You might not be able to visit your favourite central city spot right now, but you can re-create their taste at home.
Chefs in Auckland’s city centre don’t want you missing out so they have shared their much loved recipes for you to try under lockdown.
Baking:
Al Brown
Home baking is always comforting and delicious, especially when the recipe comes from Al Brown. Every week Chef Al Brown, owner of city centre favourites Depot Eatery and Oyster Bar, Federal Delicatessen and Best Ugly Bagels, will be sharing recipes on Facebook. Become one of Al Brown’s followers on his Facebook page to get his shared recipes like Ginger Crunch and Marshmallow Caramel Muesli Slice, or these simple but decadent looking treats from Brown’s Mum:

Heat ginger nuts in the oven, then while they are hot, mold them into little tartlets. Cool, then top with lemon curd then refrigerate for an hour or two to soften the ginger nuts slightly, then finish with whipped cream. Brown has provided a lemon curd recipe on Facebook.
Miann Fort Street
Wanting to whip up some Hot Cross buns in the lead up to Easter? Miann has shared the perfect recipe that we can all try at home! Head to the Miann Fort Street Facebook page for all the details, they will also upload a video too to help you out in baking these tasty treats.

Viaduct Harbour
The Viaduct Harbour Instagram page is filled with insights from a range of hospitality superstars from the area. Check their page regularly for recipe posts from restaurants such as SOUL and Saint Alice. Why not try Irish Soda Bread from SOUL Bar & Bistro’s executive chef Gavin Doyle, yum!

Make your own Korean spiced BBQ chicken at home thanks to Hello Beasty. These skewers are super easy to make and really delicious. Cooking With Kids
Chef Sid Sahrawat has reactivated his "Hospobaby" Facebook and Instagram accounts for the next few weeks, where there will be a series of video led recipes to follow. Hospobaby is the place to go for recipes and ideas to get kids cooking, the videos will feature Chef Sid and eight year old Daughter Zoya (with cameo appearances from four year old son, Roan).

At midday each Wednesday a new 'How to' video will be posted for you to follow at home.
