WINDS OF CHANGE AT WAIPARA HILLS

Change is on the horizon for Waipara Hills. Winemaker Simon McGeorge is leaving the company as he seeks to move further into his own winemaking ventures.

McGeorge, who has been with the company since 2006, says he is grateful for the opportunities that have been provided during his tenure, saying “All these people have helped shape me into the winemaker that I am today.”

McGeorge is handing the reins to former Framingham Wines Assistant Winemaker Andrew Brown. Brown is looking forward to moving from the Marlborough region to North Canterbury.

“I’ve always been a fan of the Waipara Valley so am really thrilled to be taking up the role as Waipara Hills winemaker. I am looking forward to working with the fruit, championing the region and becoming part of the team.”
