Commercial Bay’s, new seaside pouring house Reign & Pour is set to become Auckland’s new inner city go-to for a casual drink.
Situated on the corner of Quay Street and Little Queen Lane in the heart of the city, this welcoming new tavern boasts generous outdoor seating along Little Queen Lane. Part of Auckland’s newest retail hospitality and commercial development Commercial Bay, it’s the
ideal spot for a well-earned beverage, whether it’s an after work catch up, an easy bite to eat, or an after-dinner tipple.
Reign & Pour has a wide range of NZ craft beers available including Panhead, Fermentist, Harrington’s and Emerson’s, with Emerson’s head brewer and founder Richard Emerson teaming up to deliver limited releases like the Madra Rua Irish Red Ale shipped all the way from Dunedin.
Headed by Matt Nicholls of Bedford Soda & Liquor, there’s also a solid selection of cocktails to choose from, local wines and good coffee from L’affare. Joining Nicholls is co-owners Nish Gupta as operations manager, with over 20 years’ experience in Auckland’s downtown area, along with business investors Phil McConchie and Mark Farrands.
With numerous delays and challenges to negotiate, such as a global pandemic, it has been a long time in the making.
“It’s been a long road but we’re hoping the opening of Commercial Bay helps brings people back into the area and that some sense of normality returns for bars as we get used to Level 1,” expressed Nicholls who was one of the first hospitality operators to sign up to Commercial Bay back in 2017.
Reign & Pour is open seven days from 11am-late
