One of Auckland’s most iconic pubs has been hiding a secret underneath its infamous dance floor, introducing The Cellar Bar at Danny Doolans, which opened its doors at the beginning of this month.
Reviving the space that sits underneath Danny Doolans (the site was previously Velvet Bar), in the heart of the Viaduct’s party precinct, the new and improved venue can now welcome late-night revellers and host unforgettable private functions.
Inspired by its upstairs parent, but staying true to its roots, The Cellar takes a more contemporary twist on the Irish Bar décor. The interior marries old and new with brick and wooden features lit up by glowing red neon signs and living walls bringing character with a modern twist.
The Cellar Bar is available for exclusive hire any night of the week for customers’ own private functions and with insta-worthy photo opportunities at every turn, the venue is obviously hoping peoples’ nights will be fully documented and be shared on social media.
