Auckland Transport urges all Aucklanders to work from home and avoid all non-urgent travel on Monday and Tuesday. Trains have been cancelled until at least mid-day on Tuesday the 13th, and all ferries have been cancelled.
Areas to avoid if flooding occurs include Wairau Valley, Tamaki Drive, Fanshawe Street around Victoria Park and Fred Thomas Drive.
The Harbour Bridge is open with reduced lanes and speed limits but is expected to close this evening.
Slips, flooding and fallen trees are affecting multiple roads across Northland and motorists are asked to remain cautious.
