Restaurant chain Taier Sichuan Cuisine has officially opened in Auckland, marking its debut in the Oceanic and Pacific market.

Since opening in September, Taier Sichuan Cuisine has swiftly become one of the most popular dining hotspots in Auckland.

The Chinese restaurant chain has built a loyal following for its authentic Sichuan flavours and its playful dining experience.

Located on Lorne Street in Auckland’s CBD, the ethos for Taier Sichuan Cuisine is to allocate fun dining rather than fine dining.

“Dining at Taier feels like stepping into a party in Sichuan, playful art on the walls, upbeat music, laughter between tables, and the irresistible aroma of Sichuan spices in the air. Expect energy, authenticity and an immersive taste of modern Chinese youth culture, right here in Auckland.”

Originally founded in Guangzhou, Taier Sichuan Cuisine opened its first restaurant in 2015. In the ten years since, it has opened more than 600 restaurants worldwide, with flagship locations across China, Singapore, Malaysia, Canada, and the United States.

Its menu features a range of various staples of Chinese cuisine, with standout items like its suancai and fish.

“Suancai and fish is a perfect harmony of sour, spice and savoury. Tender fish fillets are simmered in Taier’s house-fermented sauerkraut broth, creating a rich, layered and refreshing flavour. This is comfort food with personality.”

For New Zealand customers, this dish is customisable, allowing every customer to select their own spice preference.

Also featured on the menu is an assortment of Sichuan icons, from stir-fried beef with chilli, crispy prawns with mustard, Mapu Tofu, and Kung Pao prawns.

“Each dish is hot, aromatic and bursting with flavour. And for those who prefer milder flavours, don’t worry, Taier also offers non-spicy versions, so every guest can find their perfect taste.”

Globally, Taier Sichuan Cuisine has a reputation for its strong use of flavours and ingredients. It has been one of the most discussed restaurant brands online in recent years, and has consistently been a popular choice for customers of all ages.
