Summer Lovin’ for Taco Fans in Dunedin

Taco Bell NZ announced the launch of its first restaurant in Dunedin expected to open its doors this coming summer.

The Dunedin restaurant will be the third to open in the South Island following the first in Eastgate in Christchurch which opened in June and Bush Inn in Christchurch slated for next month.

This latest announcement comes hot off the heels of Taco Bell NZ announcing more new restaurants set to open at both Auckland Airport and Fairy Springs in Rotorua in the coming months.

These Restaurants form part of the wider roll-out with the brand aiming to have over 25 restaurants by 2024.

Taco Mad Christchurch fans queued for hours at the launch of the Eastgate restaurant earlier this year to be the first in the South Island to try the iconic Mexican-inspired menu.

Quite the fanfare is expected for launch day including entertainment and limited edition, locally-themed Taco Bell merchandise for those first in line. The new restaurant will be situated in the old Couplands / Fire Station building in Dunedin North (Cnr Great King, Dundas St).

Taco Bell is famous for its highly customisable menu with protein able to be swapped across the menu and extensive vegetarian options available. The menu will feature Tacos, Burritos, Quesadillas and cult classics such as the Crunchwrap supreme.

Proving to be a brand beyond the typical quick-service restaurant Taco Bell offered a no strings attached free taco to any customer that came into the Restaurant on the 4th of May in celebration of the ‘Taco’ moon cycle as part of their first global #Iseeataco campaign.

Customers of Taco Bell Dunedin will be treated to a full dining experience including a range of beer and delicious frozen margaritas for adult guests. There will be free Wi-Fi as well as self-serve kiosks available for easy ordering and a digital duke box housing a range of music for customers to select from.

As well as Takeaway and Dine-in options local fans will delight in the news that delivery will also eventually be offered to neighbouring suburbs for those that want the convenience of hot Tacos and Burritos delivered directly to their door.

The new Restaurant will provide employment benefits to the local area by looking to recruit around 30 new staff members in the coming months. Management positions are now being recruited for and prospective staff are encouraged to apply at www.tacobelljobs.co.nz.
