Subway Goes Bigger-er for World Burger Day

World Burger Day

Subway has announced it will go bigger-er to celebrate World Burger Day, telling customers not to settle for something basic.

As Kiwis juggle "cost of living" chaos and interest rates that just won't quit, Subway® New Zealand is stepping up to save customers’ lunch (and their wallet). This World Burger Day, Subway is officially calling it: why settle for a burger when you can get the "BIGGER-ER" bang for your buck?

The iconic Subway Footlong® sub stands tall as the ultimate inflation-buster, proving that customers don't have to sacrifice size or quality just to stay on budget.

"We get it, in 2026, every dollar needs to pull its weight," said Rodica Titeica, Senior Director of Marketing for Subway ANZ.

"At a time when value is more important than ever, the Footlong stays legendary. It's the undisputed heavyweight champion of value, just pure, guilt-free abundance."

To celebrate World Burger Day, Subway app users can enjoy a FREE side with any Subway Footlong sub from 28-30 May. Terms and conditions apply.

The "BIGGER-ER" vibes don't stop at the sandwich. Subway is undergoing a massive digital glow-up, with a new loyalty programme currently in development designed to offer guests greater value and recognition. Guests can continue to access exclusive in-app offers until the new programme is rolled out.

On June 3rd, Subway is going BIGGER-ER with flavour, bringing the heat with two brand-new, limited-time spicy subs: Korean-Style BBQ Steak (Diced Steak topped with a Spicy Korean BBQ sauce made with apple, tomato, soy sauce, capsicum and chilli) and Peri Peri-Style Chicken (Chicken Strips marinated in a spicy and tangy sauce with nice hits of citrus). Following the success of past favourites like Spicy Harissa and Hot Honey, these bold new options are set to keep Subway at the centre of the lunchtime conversation all winter long, especially with Gen Z.
