The 2018 China Wine and Spirits Awards (CWSA), the biggest and most prestigious wine and spirits competition in China, has awarded Saint Clair Wairau Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2017 the trophy for the Marlborough Wine of the Year.

The event was judged by one hundred top drinks buyers in the region including importers, distributors, retailers, restaurant group owners and sommeliers, collectively blind tasting wines and spirits from 55 different countries. These highly experienced and specialised hand-selected judges are aware of the specific and unique tastes of Chinese consumers and therefore have a thorough understanding of the Chinese market, making the CSWS unique and different from most other wine competitions.
